Benvidos a Ellis Island

Despois, rematamos compartindo un café e uns dóces no comedor.
Que día máis bonito!

On Friday, 1st of June, our Erasmus group  received their families at school to share with them an unforgetable experience:  make them get into  a European immigrant shoes who travelled to America escaping from hunger. unemployment and looking for the American dream.

The Erasmus students have explained to their families the way they had to do as a European inmigrant of the late XIXth century, arriving at Ellis Island, the big Inmigration Center in the New York bay.
Firstly, let them know  the hardness of the trip in the steamboats which went across the Atlantic ocean, then the great emotion seeing the Statue of Liberty, the fear to pass every step they must beat to get the entrance in the US (legal inspection, medical control,...), and the absolut happiness in the Kissing Post... Our "inmigrants" have learnt and enjoyed a lot because of the great performance their children did.

After the activity, families and Erasmus team shared some snacks and drinks in our school dinning room.
What a beautiful day!
